Gen. Bruce K. Holloway, USAF


(1912-1999) | Knoxville native Bruce Holloway attended UT before entering The U.S Military Academy, graduating in 1937. He served in WWII flying with the famed “Flying Tigers” based in China. Holloway became an “Ace” after shooting down 13 Japanese planes. His extraordinary military career earned countless decorations and he became Commander in Chief of the Strategic Air Command, a mixture of combat aircraft and intercontinental ballistic missiles.
