Robert E. “Bob” Minter, Sr.


()Bob Minter of Kingsport graduated from Embry- Riddle Aeronautical Institute at Miami, Florida in 1961. He has been a corporate pilot, sold Cessna Aircraft and served in management at Burnside-Ott Aviation Training Center, the worlds largest civilian flight training organization. In 1973 he became Director of Development & Operations at TDOT’s Bureau of Aeronautics. During nearly four decades of representing AOPA, Bob has been a staunch advocate and public policy strategist for general aviation. Mr. Minter founded the Tennessee Aviation Hall of Fame and was awarded Tennessee’s “Career Contributions to Aviation” award in 2002.
