Max L. Burnette

()Max Burnette’s 59-year career as an Aircraft Maintenance Technician earned him national recognition as the FAA’s Aviation Maintenance Technician of the Year in 2014. He has also received the FAA Charles Taylor Master Mechanic Award. At 17, Burnette joined the North Carolina Air National Guard and he has also served in the Tennessee Air Guard at Knoxville and Nashville. Max has logged 4,000 hours as a KC-97 Flight Engineer. Max and Jean Burnette operated M&J Aero at Rockvale’s Gibson Field for more than 35 years.
