()Jefferson County Tennessee native Norm Gaddis was forced to bail out of his aircraft over Hanoi during his 73rd Combat Mission and was a Prisoner of War in North Vietnam for 2,124 days from May 12, 1967 until March 4, 1973. After only a 90-day convalescence he resumed his extraordinary, highly decorated military career that included becoming Deputy Director of operational Forces in Washington, DC, retiring a 30-year career in 1976.
