Phoebe Fairgrave Omlie


(1902-1975) | Phoebe Omlie was the first female Air Transport Rated Pilot and first woman to be award an Aviation Mechanics License. She was a barnstormer, air racer, a Charter Member of the 99’s and first woman to hold an official aviation post in the U.S. Government. First Lady Eleanor Roosevelt named her one of the greatest women in the United States.
