During WWII he flew in North Africa, Sicily and Italy. He served in  105th Air National Guard Fighter Squadron at Nashville’s Berry Field and later joined Jesse Stallings and Henry Cannon to start Capitol Airways . He was Chief Pilot and ultimately CEO guiding Capitol to status as an international air carrier based at Smyrna airport.
