Donald L. McDonald

()Donald McDonald’s avocation and love has always been aviation. A life-long Rutherford Countian, he graduated from Middle Tennessee State College, now MTSU, and has been a loyal supporter of his alma mater. His philanthropy in Rutherford County is significant. Donald and Francis fund scholarships to worthy students and made a significant donation of a hangar at Murfreesboro Airport that is the Donald McDonald Aerospace Maintenance Lab. He owns a private air strip adjacent to his residence and is a co-founder of The Airfield Owners Association. McDonald serves on the MTSU Aerospace Advisory Committee and MTSU Foundation Board, the Sattler Aerospace Education Foundation and was awarded the FAA Master Pilot Award in 2018.  When not flying one of his Cessna 172 or Piper Super Cub airplanes, he enjoys bird hunting and training his bird dogs.
